SNP Genotyping FAQs

SNP Genotyping is the newest service available from GATC, allowing researchers to quickly genotype hundreds of individual DNA samples. SNPStream is a Beckman/Coulter assay platform which uses single-base primer extension to create a tagged fluorescent array, capable of running in 12- or 48-plex formats. This translates to a analytic capacity of over 100,000 SNPs per day! Beckman's flexible software also allows a variety of tests to be performed on a standardized plate, with between one and eight assays perfomed at once. Beckman also supports research programs by maintaining Autoprimer.com, an automated primer design site. All SNPStream users are encouraged to make use of this resource.

Researchers interested in using SNPStream in their research should contact GATC in order to set up an appointment to discuss their project and get a price quote.
