Benefits
The Genomic Analysis and Technology Core is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Arizona university system. In accordance with the mission of the GATC our facility strives to provide access to the most current technology for genomic analysis at the lowest possible cost to the Arizona University system.
To decrease the cost of genomic research at the university the core facility centralizes capital equipment that the individual researcher may not otherwise be able to afford. This helps to prevent duplication of equipment purchases on campus, allowing for more efficient use of grant funds. Service contracts and repairs are handled by the facility, saving the researcher precious time. Repair and maintenance costs are averaged among the user base, which means that the researcher supports the facility in a manner consistent with their usage.
Additionally, our staff of experienced professionals can process user samples consistently and rapidly. Experienced technical personnel assure that the reliability of methods and consistency of data are at the highest possible level. An added advantage of the core is that the individual researcher does not have to hire and train technicians to perform complex techniques and equipment maintenance in their own lab.
